Parga is an idyllic resort located between the coastal area of Igoumenitsa – Preveza and combines the mountain with the sea. One of the most picturesque and cosmopolitan places of Boreiodytikis Greece, the beautiful Parga challenges you to get to know the long history, the various natural beauties and the hospitality of its inhabitants. The narrow cobbled streets, the blossomed neighborhoods and the traditional tavernas give their own color to the idyllic landscape of Parga.
It is built on the outskirts of the Venetian castle and is clearly influenced by the Ionian architecture.
Parga in the summer months is connected daily by ferry connection with Paxos and Antipaxos. It is also connected to the beach, Corfu and Lefkada.
Parga is the most popular tourist destination of Epirus.
You can enjoy your swim in the calm and warm waters, but also deal with your favorite water sports or water games. Most of the beaches are fully organized and have suitable facilities for jet-ski, water-skiing, windsurfing, parasailing, scuba diving (it is interesting to dive around the castle of Parga and the islet of Agios Nikolaos). And lots of water games.
The coast of Parga is probably the best part of the beaches of the Ionian Sea. The most famous and popular beaches are: Valtos beach, Kryoneri, Piso kryoneri, Lichnos, Sarakiniko, Ai Giannakis and other steep and unique Beauty beaches.
Just opposite the port of Parga is the green islet of Panagia where you can even swim.
On the islet there is the Church of Panagia and a small castle. Parga itself can be seen as an attraction, its beach is quite scenic and it is worth walking in its cobbled streets.
About fifteen kilometres from Parga is the most important ancient monument of the area. It is the most important necromancy of antiquity, the necromancy of Acheron. The ancient Greeks believed that the sources of the Acheron River formed the gates of the underworld.
